Peter Weill's research centers on the role, value and governance of information technology in enterprises. He has developed and taught executive education and MBA programs on the business value of information technology, regularly advises corporations and governments on issues of IT investment and payoff and aligning the IT portfolio to business strategy.

A regarded expert, he has published award winning books, journal articles and case studies, including the best-selling book, Leveraging the New Infrastructure: How market leaders capitalize on information technology (HBS Press, 1998) and Place to Space: Migrating to eBusiness Models (HBS, 2001), which won the Library Journal of America's Best Business Book of the Year award.
